No — transmissions ship drained and sealed for freight safety. You'll need to fill with the correct fluid during installation. We include the fluid specification with every transmission.

Check your boat's maximum horsepower rating on the capacity plate — never exceed it. As a rule of thumb: small dinghies and tenders do well with 2.5–15 HP, runabouts and fishing boats with 20–115 HP, and offshore or speed applications with 150 HP and up. Tell us your boat's make, length, and weight in the Outboard Motor Request form and we'll recommend the right motor.

Measure from the transom mounting point to the bottom of your hull. Rough guide: Short (15") for flat-bottom boats, Long (20") for most runabouts and fishing boats, Extra-Long (25") for sailboats and deep-V hulls. When in doubt, measure — and send us the number.

EU consumers have 14 days from delivery to return an unused item. Because engines ship as heavy freight, return shipping is at the buyer's cost unless the return is due to our error.
